I believe that every day gives us the opportunity to approach our difficulties in a new way if we are open to the experience of change. When people come to see me they are usually in some kind of emotional pain, whether that be stemming from a recent trauma, loss, life transition or relationship struggle. Talking about it helps. I treat teenagers and adult clients experiencing a range of emotional challenges, providing insight and positive coping skills. While I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches tailored to their specific needs, my personal approach also combines warmth, acceptance and respect.

        Talk Therapy

I work with clients in 50 minute sessions, typically once or twice a week. The sessions allow us to discuss difficulties you're facing in life. For clients who have never felt seen, valued, or understood, this experience alone can promote healing. Active participation on your part is encouraged, and will contribute to successful treatment. Depending on your needs, therapy can be short term to address a specific problem, or longer term to address more complex issues. All sessions are confidential. Exceptions to this rule are outlined by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences.

        Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy helps clients become conscious of how experiences in the past can deeply influence present interactions with self and others. By providing a non-judgmental and supportive ear, I allow clients to feel safe enough to slow down and pay attention to their thoughts and feelings. Together we explore and define self-limiting beliefs and behaviors that have formed over time. The ability to change occurs through self-awareness. My goal is for clients to expand their choices, so that they may gain access to new and more fulfilling ways of relating with others. Ultimately, the aim is to instill a sense of confidence that enables them to grow and discover their full authentic selves.

      • About Me

        broken image

I entered this field mid-life in 2011 because I know that change is possible, having personally experienced the transformative power of psychotherapy. I am fascinated by the human psyche, and our ability to continually adapt to life's challenges. If you choose to work with me as your therapist, you will find me a committed and compassionate ally.

I received my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, at the Phillip's Graduate Institute in Chatsworth, California. During this time, I provided counseling services to children at a private elementary school. I then completed 32 months of extensive training at The Maple Counseling Center in Beverly Hills, working with a diverse range of clients. I also co-facilitated a mixed-adult process group, and treated children and parents through the Mindful Parenting Program. In my private practice, I bring all my training, as well as my varied life experiences, to the benefit of my clients.

Let's talk and see if we're a good fit

Having a rapport with your therapist is perhaps the most important factor in successful treatment. I offer an initial phone consultation ranging from 15 to 30 minutes at no charge. After going over your challenges and goals together, you can decide if you'd like to move forward.

        Insurance and payment

I do not participate in any managed healthcare insurance plans, however if you have medical insurance that allows for mental health benefits, I can provide you with a monthly statement to be submitted for reimbursement. You will have the responsibility for making the insurance claims, as full payment is expected at each session, unless other arrangements have been made. I will respond to inquiries from your insurance company at your request.

My standard fee is $175 per 50 minute session and $260 for an 80 minute session. In some cases of financial need, I am open to discussing sliding scale payments.

If you have any questions about the above information, don't hesitate to reach out.
